K2 Gold Corp. is a well-financed gold exploration company managed by a team with a track record of success in mineral exploration. K2 Gold is focused on the Mojave Gold Project (earning a 100% interest) located in Inyo County, Southern California and the Wels Gold Project (100% owned) located just east of Beaver Creek in the Yukon, Canada.
The flagship Mojave Project is located approximated 240km northwest of Las Vegas, NV and 30km southeast of the town of Lone Pine in Inyo County, California. The property consists of 709 BLM federal lode mining claims spanning 5,830 Hectares and was acquired for its precious metal potential.
Recent drilling by K2 at the Mojave Project has intersecting high grade oxide-gold from surface. Consistent with historical results from previous drilling by BHP Group Ltd. and Newmont Corp. the nature of the gold mineralization is interpreted to be ‘Walker Lane’ style epithermal with a strong structural overprint. The host rocks are a series of Permian-Triassic calcareous sediments. Upon receipt of drill permits in 2021, K2 Gold will continue to explore the gold potential of the Mojave Project on the east side of the property.
K2 Gold’s Wels property is a gold discovery in a previously unrecognized mineral district 60km south of Goldcorp’s 4 Moz Coffee deposit. Hosted in orogenic style gold deposit not dissimilar in style to Coffee Creek. K2 Gold will commence a drill and sampling program in 2021 at Wels property.
K2 Gold is committed to early engagement with stakeholders. We believe that our projects have the potential to bring significant economic and social development opportunities to the local areas in which we operate. We recognize that the long-term success of our operations depends on building and maintaining constructive relationships with our host communities.
