WELCOME TO OREX MINERALS INC.
Orex Minerals Inc. (TSX.V: REX; OTCQB: ORMNF) is a Canadian-based junior mineral exploration company with an impressive portfolio of large gold and silver exploration projects on prominent mineral trends in Mexico (Coneto and Sandra Projects), and Canada (Jumping Josephine Gold Project).
Sandra Silver Gold Project
The Sandra Silver-Gold Project is located 40 km north of the town of Tepehuanes and 180 km north of the city of Durango, in the heart of the “Mexican Silver Trend.” The project is operated as a Joint Venture between Orex (45%) and Pan American Silver Corp (55%) and consists of 6,760 hectares of mineral concessions.
The project encompasses multiple mineralized epithermal quartz veins, disseminated horizons and breccia structures, located halfway between the mining districts of Guanacevi (Endeavour Silver) and Tovar (Minera de Atocha) and 75 km west of the giant La Pitarrilla Deposit (SSM Mining), in the prolific “Mexican Silver Trend.” The project contains a 2016 43-101 mineral resource estimate on the Boleras zone, a disseminated silver deposit located in the southeastern portion of the property.
Recent exploration activities include a project-wide geological mapping and geochemical sampling program designed to complete and standardize coverage over the Pan American and the Orex claims. This work is now complete and drill targeting is underway with the expectation of commencing drilling operations by the end of 2021.
Coneto Silver Gold Project
The Coneto Silver-Gold Project (a joint venture with Fresnillo) is adjacent to the village of Coneto de Comonfort, centrally positioned within the “Mexican Silver Trend”. The project is located in the Mesa Central, on the eastern flank of the Sierra Madre Occidental Mountains, 100 km north of Durango City, in Durango, Mexico.
Orex has 45% ownership of 4995 hectares of mineral concessions at Coneto. It is currently being operated under an Association Agreement with Fresnillo Plc. Activites underway include the calculation of a maiden mineral resource estimate for the Coneto Project.
The area exhibits an extensive system of hydrothermal alteration indicative of the presence of mineralization. Low to intermediate-sulphidation epithermal silver-gold quartz veins are in a window of Tertiary age lower volcanic group andesites, the same rock formation which hosts other similar silver-gold deposits. The mineral zonation shows that Coneto is high in the epithermal system and that the system is preserved. In this type of deposit, the top is fluorite rich, zoning to precious metals followed by base metals. Similar deposits in Mexico have mineralized vertical extents in the 300 m – 600 m range.
Coneto de Comonfort is a historic mining town and has a municipal population of approx. 4,000 people, which provides a good source of local labour and services.
Our 100% owned Jumping Josephine Gold Project is located 30 km west of Castlegar and 30 km north of the mining district of Rossland, in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada. The property straddles Highway 3 in the Blueberry Paulson summit area. Gold mineralization is found within structurally controlled quartz stockwork veining hosted by altered quartz-monzonite.
The property is composed of 24 current mineral claims totaling 11,667 hectares, the property includes the JJ Main Gold Deposit, with a NI 43-101 Technical Report on Mineral Resources, filed on 24 June 2011. In addition, the claims cover portions of the historic Granville Mountain Mining Camp, which saw limited, small scale gold mining in the southern portion of the claims.
